Repairs to the Hall of Brotherhood are under way. Repairs consist of replacing siding, repairing balconies, columns and other badly needed repairs. The City of De Funiak Springs, with grants from the State of Florida, St. Joe Foundation, Gulf Power, and the Chautauqua Hall of Brotherhood Foundation will spend better than $300,000 for the needed repairs. We have posted pictures showing the progress to this point.

Our Special Events team, consisting of Voncille McLeod, Patricia Huffman, Bonnie Yeardon, Marie Hinson, Olene Harvey, Mary Lind Devlin, Kermit Wright, Carolyn Mora, and Roy McLeod raised $1,500 during the Glamour Magic Fundraiser. This money will be used for the Marketing Survey. Pictures of the team at work are on the left side of this page.

The City Council approved Resolution 2005-16 authorizing the Chautauqua Hall of Brotherhood Foundation, Inc. to raise funds for the purpose of restoriting the Hall of Brotherhood. With this approval we can begin soliciting funds from Federal, State, and Private Foundations.

The City Council approved the Grant Agreement from the State of Florida Historical Division in the amount of $132,500 for repairs to the existing Hall of Brotherhood. The agreement was returned to the State and it is anticipated the Grant money will be presented by the first of August.

Contacted by Mr. Wilham of Senator Nelson's office. He provided me with a contact in their Orlando office.

Contacted by Cathy of Congressman Miller's Pensacola office advising that she was forwarding my letter to their Ft. Walton office.

Met with Victor Bowman (our architect), Larry Laird, and Kim Presnell at the Hall of Brotherhood for the purpose of going over plans for repairs to the Hall. After this meeting, Larry and Victor went over the as builts at City Hall. Everyone is real upbeat about this project. More later.

Completed and mailed Letter of Inquiry to The Getty Foundation with hopes to get help from them

Received check in the amount of $25,000 from the St. Joe Foundation, Inc. This is to be given to the City of De Funiak Springs to be used for repairs to the Hall of Brotherhood.

Presented a check in the amount of $26,500 to the City of De Funiak Springs to be used for repairs to the Hall of Brotherhood.
